TED is owned by the TED Foundation, a private 501(c)3 nonprofit foundation registered in the state of New York. Any amount over $1,500 paid for the TEDNext membership fee may be eligible for tax deduction as a charitable donation.

Here’s how registration works:
The join button will prompt you to log into your existing TED.com account or create a new account (this part is free). You’ll continue to use your account in the lead up to the conference.
Once you’ve verified your account (for new accounts only), you’ll answer several questions that help us understand a bit more about you. You’re welcome to complete the registration form in multiple sittings — your partially completed profile will be saved to your account.
You’ll need to provide payment information but you won’t be charged until your registration is confirmed, generally within 3 business days.

We offer this special membership category for those who wish to further support TED's goals with a larger contribution.
