Meet the ideas Council
The TED2027 program is a microcosm of the human experience — ideas drawn from every sector and every corner of the world. The TED Ideas Council brings together prominent thinkers whose perspectives help to shape the conference before it even begins. Their role is both to provoke and inform: surfacing questions worth asking, challenging assumptions and pointing toward the conversations that matter most. The result is a conference with sharp edges and insights you won't find anywhere else.

What makes San Diego special is what happens at its intersections. Where the Pacific Rim meets Latin America. Where Nobel laureates and biotech pioneers work alongside legendary musicians, activists and storytellers.
San Diego opened its arms to TED — its civic leaders, its institutions, its people all said: we've been waiting for you. A city this creative, this curious, this committed to what comes next was the right choice for our new home. We'll be at the San Diego Convention Center — right on the water, in the middle of all of it.

We've secured group rates at a variety of hotels within walking distance to the conference center — from waterfront to city center locations, quiet retreats to vibrant nightlife. Booking links will be available once you've registered.
Yes! Meals, snacks, coffee, tea and drinks are provided each day and are all included in your conference pass. Inspired by the region surrounding San Diego, you can expect chef-crafted menus that are locally sourced and sustainably made.
The TED Theater is the epicenter of the entire gathering, purpose-built for the next generation of ideas. Celebrated architect and designer David Rockwell has returned to help create this new space for discovery.
We're making the most of our four days together! You can expect the core TED experience with a San Diego twist. Familiar favorites like TED Talks, Dine Around dinners and curated opportunities for meaningful connections alongside an expanded Discovery Session program designed to bring you into the depth and vibrance of the San Diego community.
